IN2IT Installation guide

Version 3.3.9 and higher

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Introduction

Woody Technologies offers a unique installer for all products and all deployments.

Products features and deployment options are based on Woody license file, required during Woody configuration wizard.

Based on the license, the wizard will configure your solution properly, and ask you to choose for the appropriate deployment settings:

  • IN2IT access - Intuitive client for manual ingest of camera cards and media files. Used via a web browser or a mobile application, it offers the possibility to browse, preview, select and enrich content before ingest.
  • IN2IT exchange - Automate ingest and outgest workflows with a flexible and scalable solution. IN2IT Access can be connected as a client to IN2IT Exchange.
  • IN2IT live - Record and edit SDI/NDI/IP live feeds in real time.
  • IN2IT social - Create stories with trustworthy content from the web and social networks.

This document describes the installation process of these solutions.

Please note that IN2IT live requires installation of extra modules (video server and scheduler) which are not covered in this guide.

It is not possible to perform a direct upgrade from versions 3.2 or older. Installation and configuration must be done from scratch. Please contact Woody Technologies support team if you need assistance in migrating your existing workflows.

1. License import

Run installer Woody IN2IT.3.3.x.xxx.xxxxx.msi and follow the on-screen instructions. The installer will copy all necessary files and start automatically IN2IT configuration wizard.

If Windows UAC or Windows defender are active, one or more warnings messages may ask you to authorize the installation.

After accepting end-user license agreement, you will be prompted to load a license file.

Licenses are generated by Woody Technologies team, please send the computer name and computer key to your point of contact at Woody Technologies or to your reseller.

Once the license is selected, you’ll see which product will be installed and the enabled features.

Depending on your license, the installation wizard will prompt more or less settings and installation steps.

2. Architecture

When loading IN2IT social and IN2IT exchange licenses, you’ll be asked to choose the appropriate deployment:

  • Server – First node : Primary installation of all products running as a service (IN2IT exchange, IN2IT social or IN2IT live).
  • Server – Additional node : Add another IN2IT node to an existing cluster.
  • Server –  Supervision :  Install the supervision tools only on a dedicated machine.
IN2IT access is always installed as a client application, not as a service. Depending on your license it can be connected to an IN2IT exchange server or to a remote configuration service. The corresponding seetings will be prompted accordingly.

3. Server installation

First node configuration

In this chapter we will go through all settings to install IN2IT exchange, IN2IT social, or IN2IT live primary node. For other installation types please go to the related chapter.

  • This node IP address - Type the IP address that you wish to use, if you have multiple IP addresses be sure to select the correct one.
